Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of the study is to reveal how women are used as a consumption object. As the method of the study, the document review method consisting of content analysis and critical discourse analysis was used. In addition, women and the female body, which are especially prominent in advertisements, were analyzed with the method of semiotics. As a result of these analyzes, it has been concluded that women are used as an object of consumption. İn the consumer society dominated by the capitalist system, not with the woman's self; found to exist with his body. In particular, it has drawn our attention that the image of a young, beautiful and well- groomed women is more prominent and used as a "spectacle object". İt has been revealed that the image of ugly, neglected and blessed women is thrown into the background. It has been reached the idea that women's awareness should be increased so that they are not objects of consumer society.
