Occupational accident and occupational disease frequencies in coal mines and related factors

The purpose of this study is to determine the frequency of occupational accidents and vocational diseases occurred in Tunçbilek and Soma open pit and underground mines and related factors. 95.4% of the informant has declared that they did not have any occupational accident in the last one year.It has been determined that 5.3% of shift workers, 4.9% of workers who received occupational health and safety training when they are employed, 4.4% of workers who received training when their job title changed, 4.3% of workers who received job training, 5.1% of workers who use personal protective equipment, 6.1% of workers who have machine protector and 4.5% of workers who received occupational accident risk training had an occupational accident. There is not a statistically significant difference between the job conditions and having an occupational accident .90.8% of the informant has declared that they have not received any occupational health diagnosis in the last one year. It has been determined that 9.3% of shift workers, 7.8% of workers who received occupational health and safety training when they are employed, 11.8% of workers who received training when their job title changed, 7.5% of workers who received job training, 7.2% of workers who use personal protective equipment, 8.0% of workers who have machine protector and 6.9% of workers who received occupational accident risk training had received health diagnosis. There is not a statistically significant difference between the job conditions and receiving an occupational health diagnosis .Key Words: Coal, Occupational Accident, Occupational Safety, Occupational Health, Occupational Disease.
