Educational messages in "Serüven Peşinde" of Tuncel Altınköprü

The messages presented in the works written for children are thought to have a significant effect on the personality development of the child-reader. In this context, the aim of the study is to determine the educational messages and the distribution of these messages according to the categories in the series called Serüven Peşinde, written by Tuncel Altınköprü for children. The absence of any studies on the works of Tuncel Altınköprü constitutes the starting point of this study. In the study, which is designed with document analysis pattern, Altınköprü's Serüven Peşinde series constitutes the examined documents. These works were subjected to descriptive analysis and then content analysis was performed on the data set obtained. The identified educational messages were divided into categories and then these categories were subdivided. In addition, a semi-structured interview was held with Tuncel Altınköprü about his works and the process of writing his works, and the data obtained from this interview were used during the analyzes. As a result of the study, Altınköprü's works have a rich content in the context of educational messages and these messages are gathered under the headings of the messages that support personal education, the messages that support national development, the messages that support religious development, the messages that support environmental consciousness and the messages that support universal development. It was determined that most of the works of Altınköprü contain the messages that can contribute to personel development.
