Folk poet Ahmet Yurt Grandfather from tunceli (Life, art and poeties)

The art of poetry in which thoughts and emotions are expressed by bringing different meanings in them,has been pursued nearly since the birth of human, contained all linguistic and cultural characteristics of the societies in which it has been pursued. There have been people who have pursued this art and had different sacred specialities in Turkish cultural history too and they have been named 'ozan'. These poets named ozan have performed their poems by playing the "kopuz" which is the most primitive form of "saz". Their poems being spread by word of mouth, the social and cultural sharacteristicsof their time have been transfered to following periods. Some of the poets known as performers of folk poetry are related to the belief of Alevi-Bektashi and these poets mostly emphasize love and affection, the trio of Allah-Muhammed-Ali and human love. Those poets and their unique artworks which they performed throughout history have been evaluated in the literature of Alevi-Bektaş. Tradition of minstrelsy has been continuing existence in this century. In almost every part of our country especially in east regions there live folk poets who play saz and tell(read/perform) poems. Ahmet Yurt Dede, who lives in Hozat in Tunceli and leads the people who have adopted faith of Alevi in every religious topics and the topics about life, is one of those folk poets. In our study, Ahmet Yurt Dede has been evaluated in his life, art and poems.
