Nonverbal Communication of Tour Guides and Its Impacts on Tourist Experience

This study provides a detailed explanation of the importance and effects of body language, which has recently gained utmost consideration, on managing the relations between tour guides and tourists. To this end, while emphasizing the significance of verbal communication and body language, varieties, and the experience of body language on the other hand, an emphasis has also been placed on this purpose. The study also includes the results of how the tour guide has influenced tourist experiences as a result of body language movements. Carried out among the participants and the tour guide of two cultural tours to Cappadocia, the survey was conducted using diary, participant data collection diary and interview form to ensure easy coding of the observation data. Face-to-face interviews include six participants and the researcher's own participant observation refers to the tour with 25 tourists. This study consists of two major sections. The researcher acts as a 'complete observer' whereas she acts as an 'observer as the participant'. Data were analyzed under several headings by revealing 112 codes, eight main themes and 29 sub-themes using the content analysis.The study findings suggest that the tour guide has a significant impact on the tour experience of tourists.
