Abstract (EN)
This thesis's primary goal is to assess the notion of carrying capacity in tourism literature from a broad perspective. The definitions, dimensions, and historical development process of carrying capacity are discussed in order to explore the relationship between carrying capacity and various theories and concepts. After that, a thorough hybrid systematic literature review was carried out. The PRISMA technique was used to identify the studies that were included in the systematic review. The TCM and ADO frameworks were then utilized to further analyze these difficulties. The TCM framework evaluated the studies' more scientific and technical components, including theory, methodology, and context. The study's conclusions and their connections were examined using ADO. The quality of the research included in the systematic literature review was evaluated in terms of academic publishing using a rubric. A software has been developed to calculate the carrying capacity in coastal areas using historical development, definitions of carrying capacity, and systematic review studies. Enrique Navarro Jurado and colleagues (2013) offered an area-based, resource-based, and social-based strategy, which was incorporated into the program's development methodology. Utilizing the area- and resource-based approach, Cifuentes (1992) devised a strategy. To evaluate social carrying capacity, a scale was created. The Guttman scaling approach was used to carry out the scale development process. After determining the algorithms, formulas and processes that will work in the background of the program, the creation of the application was started. The program was designed in Excel VBA platform and built with interface design and coding. Finally, Konyaaltı beach was used as a case study to test the program. Data on the beach was collected through secondary sources and field observation and analyzed in the program. According to the findings of the carrying capacity assessment report, the physical carrying capacity of the beach is 581,333 people, 297,883 people for environmental, 259,036 people for management, 168,759 people for social and finally 168,759 people for conditional carrying capacity.
