Tourism potential of Konya region in terms of the touristic investments

The aim of this thesis is to evaluate of tourism potential of Konya region in terms of the touristic investments. Konya region which takes place in the centre of Central Anatolia in Turkey has a potential alternative tourism varieties with historical and cultural valves. In the usage of this potential the future touristic investments will be important. The thesis consists of five parts. In the first part consepts of tourism supply, demand and investments were mentioned briefly and touristic demand predicting methods were given. In the second part Konya's history with the general varieties, its geographical place, agriculture, education, industry, etc. was briefly mentioned with the main sectors indicators. In the third part accomodation managements, travel agencies, museums and touristic restaurants of Konya region have been researched. İn the fourth part historical work of arts, natural beauties, regional characteristics which are touristic sources of Konya region and alternative tourism varieties have been evaluated. The number of tourists for next years in Konya has been predicted. In the fifth part touristic investment targets and startegies of Konya region have been evaluated and investment suggestions have been presented. In this part the touristic preferences and the expectations from the region have been tried to reveal by means of public survey which has been applied to the foreign and native tourists.
