Evaluation of the problems related to skills education in vocational high schools that give tourism education

This research aims to evaluate the main problem areas that businesses, school administrations, coordinator teachers and vocational high school students with tourism education experience within the scope of skill training in tourism enterprises from a holistic perspective. For this purpose, the main question of the research What are the main problems faced by enterprises, school administrations, coordinator teachers and vocational high school students with tourism education within the scope of skills training in tourism enterprises? And with which icons do you describe skill training practices in your mind through metaphors? It shaped. Qualitative research approach was used in the research. Thus, it is thought that detailed data related to the problems of skill education can be accessed in depth. The case study pattern, which is one of the qualitative research patterns, and the "nested multi-state pattern" from case study patterns were used in the research. At the same time, semi-structured interview as data collection technique within the framework of qualitative approach; Content analysis was also used as data analysis method. The study group of the research consists of the business representatives of five-star hotels in Antalya-Manavgat region, the school administrations of vocational high schools providing tourism education, coordinator teachers, and 11th and 12th grade students who have trained skills in Tourism Enterprises in the 2017-2018 academic year. As a result of the research, the enterprises related to skill training; school administrations, where they experience problems arising from students, coordinator teachers, staff, school administrations and legal obligations; business, parents of students, students, coordinator teachers, coordinator teachers, who have problems based on administrative and legal obligations; It has been determined that students who experience business, school administrations, parents-students, and those who have skills training face problems related to themselves, teachers and school administration, transportation and businesses. It is believed that stakeholders are not fully aware of each other's problems, and therefore, solutions to problems cannot be developed. It is thought that this research will contribute to the strengthening of the communication of the stakeholders of the skill training and the formation of an empathy climate among them.
