Financial problems of small and medium sized enterprises in tourism sector and recommandations for solution: Şirince case

The Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SMEs) has become important for all economies in the world. SMEs face a lot of problems originating from their structural features and economical situations. The financial problems of SMEs is one of the most problems. In this study, after giving information about the definitions and evolutions of SME in Turkey and the other countries, advantages and disadvantages of SME and the most important problems of them it was aimed to search through a survey in Şirince the main reasons of the financial problems of small and medium sized accomodation enterprises; the financial instruments was used to solve these problems; the consciousness of SME's about alternative financial instruments. This study consists of three chapters. In the first chapter, afterfocusing on the definitions, features, advantages and disadvantages of SMEs and small and medium sized accomodation enterprises, It has been given information about the importance of SMEs in the country economies and Turkey's economy. It has been explained financial problems and financial sources of SMEs, alternatif financial methots and organisation which granted a subsidy to SMEs in the second chapter. The third chapter includes the findings of a research on the determination of financial problems and financial preferences of small and medium sized accomodation enterprises existing in Şirince district. Face to face interview method of quantitative research and interview was used in this survey and the data of the survey is analysed with statistical program.
