Abstract (EN)

In this study, the economic and financial analysis of the tourism sector was made and the long and short term effects of the factors affecting the health tourism revenues, which is considered the most important alternative tourism type, were examined. For this purpose, quantitative factors such as investments affecting health tourism revenues, dollar rate, health expenditures, number of health tourists, and income per capita were analyzed. Engle-Granger and Johansen Cointegration Tests and Error Correction Models were taken in accordance with the analysis, since the history of health tourism is not very old and the data is kept annually. Annual data between 1999-2019 were taken and short-term models were created after examining long-term relationships. In the study, the effect of investment and expenditure on health tourism income was tried to be observed. After determining the impact of investments and expenditures on health tourism, distinctions between public and private sectors were made; It has been observed that private investments and private expenditures are more effective on health tourism income. Private health investments have a positive effect on health tourism revenues both in the short and long term. Private expenditures also have a positive effect on health tourism income in health expenditures. Based on the conclusion that private sector expenditures give more positive results on health tourism income, and that investments made by the private sector in an economy with a savings deficit will be more efficient both in the short and long term; This shows that the public's role as an incentive for private investments and the fact that it does not act as a competitor in the sector will yield positive results.
