Abstract (EN)
This study aims to analyze scientific publications on crisis and tourism between 2000 and 2024 using bibliometric methods and reveal the development of the field in light of quantitative data. 3206 scientific studies published between 2000 and 2024 in the Web of Science database were analyzed. The data was supplemented with visual network maps using VOSviewer software. Findings from the Web of Science (WoS) database indicate that the crisis and tourism literature has gained significant momentum over the last 25 years and has attracted increasing interest within the academic community. The findings indicate a significant increase in studies on crisis and tourism, particularly since 2021. Spain stands out as the country with the most publications, while the journal Sustainability has published the most articles. The most cited author in the field is Colin Michael Hall, while the most published author is Pennington-Gray, Lori. It was concluded that a significant portion of scientific publications in the field are multi-authored and produced through international collaborations. The multidisciplinary nature of research in the field of crisis and tourism is a significant advantage. However, future studies are recommended to further deepen this interdisciplinary interaction, particularly by integrating psychology, sociology, environmental sciences, and economics within the context of crisis management. This study is important for identifying existing research gaps in the literature, developing sustainable tourism practices, and providing guidance for future research.
