Abstract (EN)
In this study, gender discrimination in Turkish banking sector in economical context is examined. In this extension, theories explaining gender discrimination in the labour market are studied.The aim of the study is to determine the invisible barriers those women encounter during their worklife while climbing career steps and to evaluate glass ceiling perceptions of women. For this aim, a questionnaire was prepared and distributed to employees working in the headquarter, district chieftaincies and branch offices of a bank. In total 330 employees, 161 men and 169 women?s answered questionnaires are evaluated.As a result of the study, it has been understood that woman employees face with invisible barriers while reaching high levels in their careers.
