According to the Turkish press 1929-1930 the political and economic effects on Turkey of the World Economic Argument

After the proclamation of the republic in Turkey, new instutions instead of old and lost funcioned ones left from Ottoman Empire which fits the requirements of this age were tried to be build. The possibilities were limited while trying to do so. The country was in a difficult situation both financially and spiritually because of a world war and a independence war. However, to improve community, all avaliable resources have been mobilized. With these circumstances in Turkey, when the dates showed 1929, a crisis that affected the world which started in America has occured. In early days of this Economical Crisis, the effect on Turkey was not fully felt. Economical crisis in Turkey was mostly felt like a situation in the direction of customs policy. Importsmade in hopes that the customs taxex will rise, have led to a build-up in the country. This build-up, contrary to the expectation that imported products will be sold at a high price, have made the prices of products in the market have been further lowered. Because of this, theTurkish currency in the market has begun to get effected negatively. This two situations together, has made the crisis in Turkey inevitable. This crisis began to be written in newspapers since the beginning. The goverment has tried to take some precautions againts the effects of the crisis. Due to agreements created by debts which made Turkey‟s hand stied, Turkey have been tried to correct these adverse situations by taking the support of experts. For this reason, Free Republican Party have been established. In its short journey, it was not solved the crisis and annulled itself with the political situations occured in the country. Because of this, Turkey has to continue to be single partied. Within the year 1930, wanted to be postponed on foreing debts due to the economic difficulties caused by World Economical Crisis, but this was not possible in the first place. Turkish media has fallowed the developments on the agenda closely and tried to write it in the newspapers.
