Abstract (EN)

The subject of this study is the period of change in the structure of the ownership and possession in Turkish press sector and as an example, the media establishments owned by Ciner Media Group.In this study that is aiming to display the effect of re-organisation period, that has been gone into worldwide as well as Turkey wide by 1980?s, on the structure of the ownership and possession of Turkish media sector; a critical economy politic approach has been followed.In the study in which media activities and sectoral position of Ciner Media Group, which is one of the important representatives of Turkish media sector, has been economically analyzed; starting from Ciner Media Group, an evaluation of the economic structure of Turkish media sector has been done. In this context, it is hoped that the data of the study enlightens other scientific studies in which especially analysis of Ciner Media Group will be done.While this evaluation has been done, the study was not only limited to the developments in Turkey; by the purpose of displaying an holistic and historical study, first of all, it was handled within the frame of historical, economic and political periods that have been lived worldwide.Key Words:CommunicationCapitalismMediaOwnershipPrivatization
