Abstract (EN)

The reflection of Turkish Republic's foreign politics, began to form at the very begining of its history, and its relations with its neighbours, especially with the balkanic countries in terms of their key positions to the powerful countries in the world politics, in the press, and their transfer in today' s world constitutes the basis of this paper. Ottoman Empire had a geopolitical structure that based on Anatolia in Asia, Rumelia in Europe and in the middle of it, stanbul, the capital city. The powerful countries of the world, after having made some important military and scientific developments, paid their atlention to the big and fertile lands of Ottomans, that also fell behind the developments of its day. In the origin of the policy they called as the Oriental Issue, there was, firstly, eliminating Turks from Balkans, then saving Christian minorities in Asia, and in this way the last point, for Turks, was to be driven from Anatolia. The principle of divide, dismember and administer was first applied in Balkans, and is also continued for Armenians, Kurds, and Arabs nowadays. However, as the basics of the research's problem, the first part of these policies, that is eliminating Turks from Balkans is very important for the sustainability oftoday's foreign politics of Turkey. Western powers constituted their policies over defending the rights of minorities to intervene into the internal affairs of Ottomans. Supporting the nationalism acts, chaos and confusion occured in that area and so started a chain of problematic issues lasting for many years. The benefits of the internal and external peaceful policies of young Turkish Republic against these problems were also utlered in the voice of local states leaders. The view of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the country, to the foreign relations, his Balkan policies and the balance he constituted to prevent the national benefits of Turkey has a great effect on today's peaceful atmosphere.
