Abstract (EN)
In this study titled "Family in Turkish Epics" the schematic of the Turkish family structure, the stages of family formation, and the perception of family in Turkish epics within the context of individual-family and family-society relations are discussed, along with observations and evaluations. The survival of the family institution, which is the basic building block of societies, is very important for the stability and future of that society. In all Turkish societies that have existed from history to the present, family has been among the values considered sacred. Epics about events such as migration, war, famine, heroism, etc., which have left deep traces in the history of nations, are the source of the history of the Turkish nation. The Turkish nation, which has a rich and deep cultural heritage as a combative nation, is skilled at writing epics. As a result of the examination and findings; Many elements related to socio-cultural life and the place and importance of family in this life have been found in Turkish epics. Accordingly, it has been seen that in Turkish epics there is a solid family structure built with customs and that this is preserved with social norms to be passed on to future generations. This work; It consists of eight chapters covering epic, family and family issues in Turkish Epics. In the study; Basic concepts and general information that form the conceptual framework about epic and family issues are included. Family structure and perception in Turkish culture and Turkish epics from history to the present; status, roles and relationships of family members; Information about marriage and its stages is given. Problems within the family in Turkish epics; root/core values related to family; male and female types; symbols and motifs related to family; The issues of Turkish epics carrying social norms regarding the family have been examined. The data obtained were evaluated from a psycho-social perspective in an interdisciplinary context.
