Abstract (EN)

The Purpose of the Research: The purpose of this research is to analyze the attitudes of 6th, 7th and 8th grade students towards the inferences of the popular culture products represented on television and the possible changes in Visual Arts Education courses accordingly.Sampling: Considering the wide spectrum of the research area, a multi phase method has been used in defining the sampling. First, a stratified method was used to help representing the minor groups within the sampling and the counties had been separated into three different stratas. Then, by using the cluster method which is a commonly used method for high spectrum scanning researches, Below, Middle and High level schools have been classified in different counties and private and state schools have been finally defined from 10 different counties by Simple Random Sampling. This research designed for the students has been applied to the students of the classes of which the teachers allowed us to do the questionnaire.Data Collection Tools: In this research, the data have been collected through a three sectioned questionnaire designed and prepared for the students.Findings: The daily Television audience rates of the students do not differ according to school type, class, gender or age distributions. The private and state school students have been compared with the degrees of preferring television over painting. Majority of the state school students (24,6 %) never prefer television over painting, whereas the majority of the private school students (28,8 %) always prefer television over painting. According to this, a certain difference has been found between the state school and private schol students when the comparison on painting over television among those students.The ages of the students and their response rates to the programs they watch on television has been comparisoned. Majority of the 11 year old students (25,0 %), majority of the 12 year old students (25,2 %), majority of 13 year old students (27,2 %) and majority of 14 year old students (25,0 %) are effected from the programs they watch on television sometimes. Majority of the students above 14 years (32,3 %) are effected from the programs they watch on television at times. According to this, there is a consderable difference between the ages of the students and the rates of responses towards the programs they watch on television.Rates on the demographic atributes of the students, rates on the effects of television and rates towards the application of visual arts courses are also compared and teh results have been defined in minor problems accordingly.
