Abstract (EN)

Education, which is an indispensable element of social life, is a 100% social event and in this direction is the subject of sociology. For this reason, we started our study by evaluating the emergence conditions, subject and conditions of entry into our country of sociology that emerged in Western societies, especially in France, and in the search for solutions to problems and dilemmas that reached a great extent in the 18th and 19th centuries. The subject of education, which is the subject of sociology, which examines the social and social events, and which assumes the task of equipping new members who participate in social life with information appropriate to the needs and goals of the society and preparing the individual for social life, has become our second study. Here, the development of the educational process and the course of development in Turkish history and the problems encountered in Turkish history, which have developed over time in parallel with the historical development process of the societies, have been discussed. The Turkish education system has followed a course of development in line with the needs and goals of the Turkish society throughout history, and has assumed the function of reconstructing the Turkish society in accordance with the developing conditions in every period of history, as well as the troubles occurring in certain periods. Starting from that period have replaced the Ottoman Empire to the Republic of Turkey economically, has been confronted with social and political lots of questions, have tried to find solutions to encountered impasse with the legacy inherited from the Empire, and a new line with the new political structure of society and a new type of human being compatible with this community has been trying to develop. Turkey targeted type of shaping society and human task was to install the Turkish education system and the curriculum prepared for high school. The generations raised through high school sociology textbooks, the first of which was adopted in 1924 and prepared in accordance with the curriculum renewed in later periods, are aimed to be shaped according to the type of people envisaged by the Republic. In the high school sociology textbooks prepared with the titles of the republic's priorities, transformations were experienced in the context of the political, social and economic characteristics of the period and the ideological attitudes of the authors who prepared the book.
