ABSTRACT AN EXPERIMENT IN THE TURKISH NATIONAL POLICE?S INFORMATION SYSTEMS AND SOLUTION SUGGESTIONS Çetinkaya, Cemil Master Thesis, Office Management Education Department Chair: Professor Dr. İzzet GÜMÜŞ April - 2007 Within the working producers of Turkish National Police there has not still been an integrated bureau automation system. Existing information systems are not utilized due to the fact that the investments on information systems are made by the responsible departments. In addition, since there are many critical duties, including the filling the gaps and accomplishing the lacks of PolNet and there is no sufficient number of experts working at IT Department, it is explicitly seen that a study to set up an integrated bureau automation system has delayed. Consequently, in this study it is aimed to improve the working conditions and the working environments of the personnel in order to use the applications of information systems in Turkish National Police effectively and efficiently. In the first part of the study general principles of the information systems, in the second part of the study the systems having been used since the foundation of Turkish National Police, in the last part of the study conclusion and recomendations were explained in detail.
