The determination of the level of the harmonization of turkish intellectual and industrial property right legislation to eu legislation and the analysis of the education needs.

ABSTRACT Hülya ERBAY, Master Thesis Gazi University, Institute of Educational Science January 2007 In this study, it is aimed to revealed the level of the Turkish legislation about the intellectual Property Rights, that has been attached vital importance, because of the liability of the harmonization of the legislation with European Union (EU) since the Customs Union established between Turkey and EU and the Trade Related Intellectual Property Rights Aggrement (TRIPs) the attachment of the World Trade Organization (WTO) Aggrement signed by Turkey in 1995. It has been tried to propose course of actions to solve the problems arising from the implementation of the legislation after the revealing of the level of it. Especially the customs legislation was compared and tried to reveale the gaps between the legislations of the EU and Turkey since the customs legislation has to be in line with EU legislation on this subject because of the customs union between EU and Turkey. After the determination of the gaps the education requirements have been stated by the aim of taking the support of the people to make them conscious about the importance of the subject and to increase the implementation ability of the officers.
