Abstract (EN)
The main purpose of our study entitled "Adoption According to Ukrainian Law in Comparison to Turkish Law" is to make a detailed and theoretical analysis of the legislation and practice related to adoption in Ukrainian law and to examine it in comparison with Turkish law. In our study, adoption was handled within the framework of the Family Code of Ukraine, the Turkish Civil Code, international conventions and the laws of both countries. The differences and similarities of both adoption institutions were analyzed. In the first chapter of our study we examined the adoption institution in ancient Babylon, Rome and Byzantine; the development of the adoption institution between the ancient times and the X. century on Ukrainian territories, during the period of Kievan Rus, the Tsardom of Russia, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics; the historical development of the adoption institution in the independent Ukraine from 1991 to the present has been discussed. In the second chapter, the concept and definition; conditions; the process; legal provisions of the confidentiality; legal consequences; the invalidity and abolition of adoption according to the current Ukrainian law were examined. In the third chapter, a general description of adoption institution according to Turkish law has been made; the similarities and differences of the adoption institution between Ukrainian and Turkish law have been explained.
