Evaluation of severance pay in Turkish labour law

This study on severance pay is divided into three main parts, and the focus of the first part is to examine the concept of severance pay in the national and international arena in a comprehensive manner, including the legal nature and historical development of the concept of severance pay. In the second part, in line with the decisions of the Court of Cassation, the conditions that require entitlement to severance pay are examined and the issues affecting the seniority of employees are discussed. In addition, the calculation of severance pay is clarified with practical examples. The last section, titled "Evaluation of the Severance Pay Fund in the Historical Process", focuses on the ongoing studies on severance pay, the perspectives of the social partners, the pros and cons of the implementation and the solution proposals.
