Formation of basic components of the business system in Turkey: İnvestigation the period of 1908-1960 through Turkish novels

The purpose of this research is to analyze formation of basic components of the business system in Turkey the period of 1908-1960 in Turkish novels within the context of a narrative. The use of fiction items in social sciences in general and that is, in management science in special terms, is becoming increasingly widespread, yet it is a phenomenon that is approached by a certain group of people remain distant. One of the most basic reasons for this is the positivist approach generally shown to art works and scientific studies. The novel has attracted the greatest attention among literary genres in all periods. Because of its flexible and dynamic structure, variety of narration and its own way of phraseology, it has been widely preferred. The study of basic components of the business system in the management science through novels can be considered as a new approach for the field. Especially in the Turkish studies, it is seen that there is a deficiency in this matter. In the study, the selected novels which enables to read sociologically in particular, are considered to be one of canons of the Turkish literature. Since the state is a founding and transformative actor in the Turkish business system, it is at the center and therefore has a special place in Turkish business system studies. In this study, ten novels which describe the period from the Second Constitution to the 1960 have been determined in order to examine the basic components of the business system through novel contents. From these novels, chapters describing the relationship between the state and the merchant were selected, then these selected pieces are combined in a narrative context by combining them with the historical events that describe the period.
