Abstract (EN)
This study aims to explain the place and importance of scientific studies in terms of Turkish-Islamic Philosophy during the period from the foundation of Beytü'l Hikme in 800's, to the collapse of Abbasid State. The collection of works brought from all sides by various incentives and support from the caliphs during the period when Beytü'l Hikme was founded, prevented the loss of many manuscripts. For example, during this period many ancient Greek works were preserved in Beytü'l Hikme and many new studies were made by Turkish-Islamic philosophers. The Islamic State had lived its "Golden Age" from the 9th century when the Beytü'l-Hikme was founded until the collapse of the Abbasid State. Important translators and philosophers such as Hüneyn b. Isaac, Sabit b. Kurra, Kindi, Harezmî and Şakiroğularları had lived in this period. In addition, these philosophers aroused great repercussions both in their own age and other periods. In this thesis, the ancient Greek heritage preserved in Beytü'l Hikme, its contributions to the Turkish-Islamic thought tradition and how it was developed in this tradition were discussed. The effect of the studies carried out in Beytü'l Hikme, which was used as a library, translation center and observatory, on the following centuries and Western Civilization and whether this effect has been evaluated correctly from the historians of thought was examined. Key words: Beytü'l Hikme, Turkish-Islamic Philosophy, Huneym b. İshak, Sabit b.Kurra, Kindi, Harezmi, Şakiroğulları
