Abstract (EN)

Mamluks, is very significant in terms of Islamic science studies, with being one of the greatest Muslim Turkish States, which was established in (648-923/1250-1517). Analyzing the works and historians of the period, it is easily seen that this period can be called as the golden age of the history of Islam. It is possible to say that there are lots of syrah works about the life of Prophet Muhammed, especially in Turkish Mamlukid Period. The aim of this study is to examine the syrah writing in Mamluk region of 8th century in the context of Ibn Al-Dawadarı and to present the perception of Prophet Muhammed of this period. In this study, the scientific life in Mamlukid Period and syrah writing before the Mamlukid Period were briefly mentioned. After that, Ibn al-Dawadarı's syrah work, named "al-durr al-thamin fi akhbar Sayyid al-Mursalin wa-l-khulafa'al-rashidin" was examined regarding content, method and resources. Subsequently, the syrah of Ibn al-Dawadarı is discussed in a comparative manner in terms of fundamental points with the book of Ibn Sayyid al-Nas (d. 734/1334) namely "Uyun al-Athar fi Funun al-Maghazi wa al-Shama'il wa al-siyar" and the part of the life of the Prophet Muhammed in the book of Al-Dhahabi (d. 748/1348) namely "Siyar a'lam al-nubala". Additionally, aforementioned writers (Ibn Sayyid al-Nas and Al-Dhahabi) were contemporary of Ibn al-Dawadarı.
