Abstract (EN)

This research, which aims to comparatively examine the perspectives of Turkish and refugee/immigrant students on children's rights, is designed as a comparative case study. The study group of the research was determined by critical case sampling, which is one of the purposive sampling methods, among the 5 primary schools in Gaziantep/Nizip, where the number of Turkish and refugee/immigrant students is closest to each other. Semi-structured interviews were also conducted with Turkish and refugee students, as well as with their parents and teachers, to obtain more detailed information at the school, where the CRBSS is implemented, with a high understanding of children's rights. Therefore, the data of the research were obtained through semi-structured interviews and visual documents collected from students. In the analysis part of the research, content analysis was used and the collected data were analyzed in this way. As a result of the research, it was found that Turkish and refugee/immigrant students generally have similar perspectives on children's rights and the right to play/entertainment, and rest. It has been revealed that there are differences in the perspectives on the rights of children with special needs and the rights of refugee/immigrant children. In addition, it has been determined that teachers and social circles, especially their parents, are effective in conceptualizing the perspectives of Turkish and refugee/immigrant students on children's rights. The research is important in terms of presenting information about the regulations and practices that will be made concerning the perspectives of Turkish and refugee students on children's rights.
