Abstract (EN)
In this research, accreditation criteria of education are examined, the accreditation sufficiency levels of high schools and the teachers? and directors? approach to these criteria and the differences between them are researched. In this field survey, descriptive method is used. The universe of the research consists of 1138 teachers and directors working at high schools in the city centre of Sakarya. The sample(study group) of the research consists of 300 teachers and directors that are extracted from the universe by using the method of Layering. A questionnaire of likert scale with five options that consists of personal information and general accreditation criteria and that is prepared by the researcher is applied to the teachers and directors in the study group. In accordance with the answers given by the school directors, the average of the views of the teachers and directors and their numbers are obtained by using SPSS and T-Test is applied to establish whether there is a meaningful difference between the views of the teachers and directors or not. The meaningfulness level is 0.05. In addition, one-way variance analysis is applied to see if there is a meaningful difference among the views in accordance with schools, in dimensions where there is a meaningful difference, Scheffe Test is applied to see in which dimensions and school types this meaningful difference takes place. Finally, these differences are supported with graphics of averages of schools to have a visual support. In accordance with the average of views, 0,00-0,079 is certainly insufficient, 0,08-1,59 is not sufficient, 1,60-2,39 is partially sufficient, 2,40-3,19 is sufficient and 3,20-4,00 is certainly sufficient. As a result of the analysis of all the views, differences are found between the views of teachers and directors taking place in all of the sub-categories and in all of the schools, this difference in the views, is established in favor of the directors. Directors in all types of schools have expressed higher levels of views. Under the light of answers given by the teachers and directors, it has been understood that schools are not ready to be accredited in many sub-titles and they do not bear the general accreditation criteria. It is hoped that the findings of the research will enlighten the teachers and directors who are working at high schools in Turkey, give some clues to schools to see at what point they are standing on the international accreditation issue and assist to researchers who will make research on Turkish High School Education System on the subject.
