Abstract (EN)

Winds of change in the Western world swiftly arrived to the Ottoman Empire, and soils of the Ottoman Empire, being under effects of nationalism, became the center of riots and rebellions. Second constitutional monarchy, which was announced to prevent the collapse of the Ottoman Empire, caused significant changes in the Empire. Therefore, announcement of the second constitutional monarchy which had a great importance in social life and the events following it were also reflected in the literary works, and they became important topics which were touched upon in literary works by many authors of both the present time and that era. Because, history is a significant source from which literature feeds on. Events happened in the past constitute a starting point for some authors. Whether or not he witnesses the era or learns it through reading from historical sources, a man of letters, while creating his work, reenacts the past events in his imagination and converts historical realities into literary realities. Looking at the works written in this context as a mirror reflecting the mindset of the era will contribute to both assessing the work itself and explaining the era it reflects. Thus, it has a great importance to assess the novels depicting the 31st March Incident and the dethronement of Abdulhamid the 2nd "which left their marks on the 2nd constitutional monarchy era and after, and which are important milestones for shaping the history" and to put forward different points of view about the incident, also in the eyes of novelists. In this work, after detecting the novels depicting the 31st March Incident and the dethronement of Abdulhamid the 2nd, within the context of fiction and reality, it was attempted to identify different points of view from which the era, the events and the people were seen.In this context, aforementioned events were put down on paper from three different points of view: pro-Sultan Abdulhamid the 2nd, pro-Party of Union and Progress and a neutral point of view.
