Abstract (EN)

Art education has taken its place in the general education process with various approaches in each stage in the history of humanity and it will continue to be so. From this point of view, art contains new changes in itself. These changes in art necessitate the change and development of art education.The purpose of art education is not to reach a case or artistic works. The purpose of art education is the effort to reach the individuals. Art education must be formed in a way that responds to the needs of individuals. To achieve this it is necessary to know the individual very well. Each individual has different needs. That?s why art education programs should be able to respond to different needs. Art education programs should be varied to respond the needs of individuals considering into account the history of the country and its conditions.The importance of this study is to support the new original approaches that could be a light for this kind of modern approaches and to work on shaping a philosophy of life that sees art as a part of individual?s life by making art education more important in the individual?s life.In this thesis, we have studied the improvement of art education approaches and methods in Turkey and the West. The reseanch has survey model. It is given detailed information about The history of Turkish Eucation, development of art education and the influence of Bauhaus School on Turkish Art Education. Comments have been made in the light of this information. Thesis has been prepared using data collected from publication obtained from the investigations made in the library. Resources were collected through the library studies and Internet.In conclusion, as a result of reflections of the Bauhaus School on the development of art education in Turkey, ?Köy Enstitüleri? were established and so far that process has been working on the development of art education.
