Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the films of auteur directors in Turkish cinema in the context of the relationship between ideological analysis and auteur approach in cinema and to analyze the contents of political ideologies in these films. For this purpose, datasets containing the production info, characters, plot and conflicts for a total of 14 films by Dervis Zaim and Yeşim Ustaoglu were created and the datasets created were analyzed in the context of the political ideologies of Liberalism, Socialism, Conservatism, Nationalism, Fascism, Anarchism, Feminism, Environmentalism and concepts corresponding to these ideologies. It was found that only two of the examined films explicitly mention a political ideology. There is a political ideology that is prominent and supported in the filmographies of the two auteur directors discussed. These political ideologies (Dervis Zaim/Conservatism; Yeşim Ustaoglu/Feminism) are supported in most of the directors' films. On the other hand, there are no expressions that contradict or criticize these political ideologies in the other films of the directors. It is seen that there is a similar consistency in the context of the ideologies that are criticized in addition to the ideologies supported in the films.
