Husamettin Cindoruk in Turkish politics

The number of studies regarding center-right politics in Turkey has been increasing lately. Such studies carry essential value as most political parties have adopted a center right-wing ideology so far since the foundation of the Turkish Republic. The tradition started by Democrat Party has been continued by different political parties. The center-right political parties have been maintained heterogeneous identities since they are generally created by different interest groups. Therefore, factionalism has been a common concept in these parties for the sake of taking over the party's control. The so-called factionalisms have emerged differently as a result of different ideological arguments of the center-right wing. As the Islamist and nationalist politicians in the center-right political parties created new political parties, the factionalisms in the center-right wing are generally centered around conservative and liberal mindsets. However, the factionalisms surrounding these two mindsets could not be sharply separated from each other. This in turn led to numerous political parties in the center-right wing that have both similarities and differences. On the other hand, the names that were not in the center of the attention also worth investigating as well as the figures in the center-right political parties who were leaders and were of primary importance. One of these names, Hüsamettin Cindoruk, has been at the center of discussions for his different political stance. This study investigated the conservative-liberal factionalisms within the famous center-right wing political parties Democrat Party, Justice Party, Motherland Party, and True Path Party. Also, the political stance of Hüsamettin Cindoruk has been presented and analyzed to locate its position within the factionalisms of the center-right wing ideology. This qualitative analysis was carried out in the form of a content analysis -using documents and archives.
