Şevket Raşit Hatipoğlu in Turkish political life

Şevket Raşit Hatipoğlu, who was born in 1898, was one of the important representatives of the Anatolian movement. The influence of this movement was felt in many areas from Hatipoğlu's journal articles to his political activities. Hatipoğlu, who entered politics in the years when the single party was dominant, first served as an Afyonkarahisar deputy. However, his active involvement in politics was during the Ministry of Agriculture. In addition, he served as Manisa Deputy in VIIth, VIIIth and XIIth terms. He did not take part in active politics while the Democratic Party was in power. In addition to his political activities, he also assumed important roles in the party. After the 1960 coup, he took place in the Constituent Assembly as the representative of Manisa province. In 1962, he acted for the Minister of State. He also served as the Minister of National Education.However, he resigned soon after. He never took part in parliamentary life again. In 1967, he left Republican People's Party and moved to the Trust Party. In this study, Hatipoğlu's life, thoughts, deputyship, political activities; Archival documents, periodicals, official documents and research works were evaluated within the scope of Anatolianism movement.
