Textbooks have an important role to play in the transfer and reproduction of values for the maintenance and preservation of social order. One of the most important means of transmission of this task is poetry. Poetry is a literary genre which is frequently included in Turkish textbooks. In this case, what values the poem carries is very important for the development of children, mind structure and character. The aim of this study is to evaluate the value classification of the poems in Turkish textbooks (5th-6th-7th-8th grade) approved and approved by the Ministry of National Education as a textbook in the 2018-2019 academic year. Inspection. In this study, document analysis, one of the qualitative research methods, was used. In order to examine the poems in Turkish textbooks in terms of value, four books X poems were examined. The study criteria are based on Schwartz's value classifications. Content analysis method was used in the analysis of the data. As a result of this research, it has been determined that the value of tradition and success values are the least used in the poems found in Turkish textbooks.
