Abstract (EN)
Diction is an art of perfect speech. It is originating from French. Perfect speech has been very important for mankind for many years. 4. There is no diction lesson for tones, words, emphasizing the words, meaning and pausing in exciting moments in grammar syllabus.(B.Felek) 5. To study carefully a spoken language. 6. Lucid, implementing and complete speech. There is a strong bound between nation feeling and the language. A rich and national language is a cause for growing national feeling.(Mustafa Kemal Ataturk) Boxes are inside each other. The big box has the small box inside it. When you open each big box the smaller boxes are in mystery and faded away. Same thing has happened to our language. From hundreds and thousands words only 300-500 words are remaining in our language. Oh my weak language, came to what condition by not using it. From the above words "mankind grows by living, but the language grows by using it. Mankind finally dies but rich languages live forever. People have learned how to speak and impress the public for many years. The radio and TV have an impact to public culture and changing their languages. Even the adage from old school has been changed from"who knows better, the very educated or the one who travels to different places often "to the radio listener or the TV watcher. Technology has certainly helped the mankind to live more comfortably. But when is not used in a right way it can jeopardize the life. It's a fact that today the TV and internet have been very useful in life but on the other hand due to misusing by our children have shows their deleterious effects as well. In this study; we are emphasizing the tones, pronunciation and using the words in the right place in learning a language. We think this can have a big impact in our nation language. For many years our language has been studied but no emphasis on learning diction. Even artists (Singers, theater stars, showman, politicians) are having difficulty in speaking because they did not have a diction education before. Especially the teachers should take the diction education in order to teach more effectively. In the countries with a rich culture and language the art of diction has been practicing. For this reason the diction education should be given throughout elementary, middle school and high school before it's too late. We are emphasizing that the art of Turkish diction should start in elementary school like any other country. An evaluation on speaker and the issue to be chosen by the speaker was made in the fourth section. How a speech of the speaker in front of a society shall be and which phases are to be passed were discussed. Moreover, a schema for speech duration was presented. It was stated that speaker's characteristics and the speech reflect one's personality. Voice and diaphragm exercises were noted. It was highlighted that expression disorders, editorial and punctual mistakes have much effect. In the fifth section, methodological features were stressed; details like research model, population and sample, and data collection were explained.
