Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the comprehension of reading comprehension and listening comprehension skills of Turkish teacher candidates according to different text types. For this purpose, two informative, two storytelling texts with moderate difficulty and readability calculated with the Ateşman formula and two poems belonging to the same poet were created by the researcher by receiving expert opinions. The study group of the research was selected with easy sampling method. Students of the Department of Turkish Education at Düzce University were preferred due to the ease of transportation and proximity to the researcher. The study group of the research consists of 167 undergraduate students. The data of the study were analyzed using SPSS program. In order to measure the normality of the data, the Lilliefors corrected Kolmogorov-Smirnov Test was used to compare nonparametric related groups, and the Wilcoxon T Test to compare nonparametric groups, and the Kruskal Wallis H Test. As a result of analyzing the data in the research, it was determined that the comprehension score averages were higher than the reading comprehension score averages in informative and narrative texts. In the poetry type, it is revealed that the reading comprehension scores are higher than the listening comprehension scores. It has been determined that the 1st and 2nd year students from the undergraduate students of Turkish Language Teaching Department are more successful in the tests applied than the 3rd and 4th year students. While the students who attend the Reading and Listening Education courses are expected to get higher scores, the students who have not yet taken these courses according to the data obtained have obtained higher results. In this case, it can be said that the reading and listening skills of the 1st and 2nd grade students are more developed.
