Abstract (EN)

The general purpose of this research is to determine the in-service training needs of Turkish teachers working in Yozgat province during the 2022-2023 academic year according to various variables. The study utilizes a relational screening model. The population of the research consists of 307 Turkish teachers working in Yozgat during the 2022-2023 academic year, while the sample is composed of 298 Turkish teachers selected through convenience sampling. In the study, a Personal Information Form developed by the researcher and a Needs Assessment Survey for In-Service Training of Turkish Teachers developed by the researcher and experts were used. After confirming that the collected data showed normal distribution, parametric tests, specifically "independent samples T-test and one-way ANOVA," were conducted for analysis. The analyses revealed that the in-service training need of Turkish teachers related to field knowledge was lowest in the factor of "teaching methods and techniques of structure knowledge (form in words)" and highest in the factor of "methods for ensuring critical reading." The in-service training need related to professional knowledge was lowest in the factor of "preparing annual lesson plans" and highest in the factor of "knowledge of contemporary educational technologies." For general culture/general ability, the lowest need was in the factor of "human relations" and the highest in "writing projects." It was concluded that the seniority of Turkish teachers has a determining effect on their in-service training needs regarding field knowledge, professional knowledge, and general culture/general ability; that the gender of Turkish teachers has a determining effect on their in-service training needs regarding field knowledge; that the type of school where Turkish teachers work has a determining effect on their in-service training needs regarding field knowledge and professional knowledge; and that the career steps of Turkish teachers have a determining effect on their in-service training needs regarding field knowledge and professional knowledge.
