Study of Turkish teachers' attitudes to the distance education of Turkish course in terms of different variables

The aim of this study is to examine the attitude levels of secondary school Turkish teachers towards the teaching of Turkish lessons via distance learning with reference to different variables. The population of the research consists of secondary school Turkish teachers in Gaziantep, whereas the sample of the research consists of 451 (273 female, 178 male) secondary school Turkish teachers working in the central districts of Gaziantep (Şahinbey / Şehitkamil). Data on attitudes towards distance education in the study was collected by "Attitude Scale Towards Distance Education" developed by Ağır (2007). The SPSS 22 statistical program was used to analyze the data set collected from the teachers. As a result of this study, it was identified that Turkish teachers' readiness for distance education was high, and their attitudes towards distance education were at a medium level, close to negative. Referring to the results of the research, it was suggested to expand the sample, provide in-service trainings for distance education and trainings to increase readiness for distance education.
