Abstract (EN)
This study aims to reveal the views of Turkish teachers on teaching the value of patriotism. In this context, we focused on the patriotic value for Turkish teachers, the status of teaching patriotic value, and its relationship with the Turkish lesson. Basic qualitative research methods were used in this study. The data of the research were collected through semi-structured interviews. The study group of the research consisted of 20 Turkish teachers working in state schools in Sakarya province in the 2022-2023 academic year. The form contains a total of 17 questions. After getting expert counsel and making changes that were required, the interview form was completed. The data of the study were analyzed using content analysis method. The study's findings showed that Turkish teachers accepted themselves as patriots and felt responsible for teaching patriotism value. It was found that Turkish educators believe the idea of teaching patriotism to be of greatest significance for the ongoing existence and continuance of the country. The best course for teaching patriotism, according to the study's findings, is Turkish, and Turkish teachers include various in-class and extracurricular activities to teach this value in the best way. It was determined that Turkish teachers had various ideas for efficiently teaching the value of patriotism in Turkish lessons, and these ideas related to activities, teachers, and the way the value was conveyed.
