Özet (EN)

Humans communicate with each other or other beings using both verbal and nonverbal cues. It is observed that a significant portion of this communication is carried out using verbal elements. One of the basic linguistic elements that demonstrate this is communication verbs. Communication verbs, which form an important group in verb classifications, encompass verbs that semantically express communication. They are frequently found in everyday spoken language and written texts and stand out as an important element of vocabulary. Theater texts are one of the text types where communication verbs are frequently encountered. Theater is a literary genre that reflects society and provides an open space for communication. Theater texts contain rich data to observe the diversity of communication verbs and to determine their frequency and distribution rates. In this context, the study examines communication verbs and attempts to reveal their diversity through the plays "Keşanlı Ali Destanı" by Haldun Taner and "Toros Canavarı" by Aziz Nesin, which are among the leading theater texts of Turkish literature. These works have a rich content in terms of communication, and therefore the scope of the study has been limited to these. Ärnazarov's classification was used to classify communication verbs within themselves; information on other classifications related to communication verbs was also provided. According to Ärnazarov, this verbs identified in the works are shown under subheadings. Finally, the obtained data are presented in tables and the numbers and proportions of the examples used as communication verbs are evaluated comparatively
