It is important to know words adequately and use them properly in asentence so as to express properly by themselves. With more effective ways, wordteaching, listening, speaking, reading, writing skills enable to fortificate.According to the class level, it has been determined how many words needteaching, which words need teaching, how many words need teaching in everylesson. It is important for word teaching that the number of words used and textswhich are written by students.Idea wealth depends upon concept and word source. Vocabulary is not onlya set of mould in grammer but has been the major pointer of covalent bends whichhas been created by nationals, consisting of their life style for centuries. It is possibleto examine the life style of the nations, their fro-customs, their tradition, their beliefs,their dates, their geography and their development of vocabularies.Word teaching studies are important for the extension of the vocabularysource. Due to this, this study consists of five parts. In the first part, it is participatedin language-memory-word language, the first information of the language, thedevelopment of the language, the physcholinguistic theory, the learning theory, thebehavioral theory, the cognitive theory, the feature of development of the periodprelanguage, the phases of learning vocabulary in language development, the factorswhich are impacted on the development of language, the theory of Stern?s languageiidevelopment, the theory of Piaget?s language development, the theory of Vygotsky?slanguage development, the problems of the Turkish Language development, themother tongue, the subjects of the mother tongue?s education in the world and inTurkey.In the second part, it has been given the way of the language developmentof vocabulary sources such as vocabulary source, the layers of the vocabulary source,the investigations of the vocabulary source in Turkey, the appliances of the data-accumulation as mainly.The third part, it is discussed that the teaching of word, the recognition anddistinguishment of words, the structure of the words, the meanings of words, theenunciations of the words, the writings of the words.In the fourth part, it is discussed that the varieties of word, teaching nouns,verbs, adjectives, idioms and locution.In the fifth part, conclusion and suggestions are given.Key Words: Word, word-teaching, vocabulary, mother tongue conclusionand proposal.
