Özet (EN)

In this study it?s aimed to prepare lesson materials for teaching participle suffixes to the students learning Turkish as a foreign language. One of the most problematic and studied subjects in Turkish grammar is the relative clauses. It?s thought that while learning Turkish as a foreign language, relativization is a difficult subject not only for the students, but also for the teachers. One of the main reasons of this is the possibility of having more than one function in one suffix in Turkish. The studies on relative clauses in Turkish have aimed to clarify the functions of participle suffixes. When the results of this studies are considered, it?s seen that a study on preparing functional materials for teaching relative clauses in Turkish will fill a big gap on the field of teaching Turkish as a foreign language. In this study, the functions of relative clauses are focused on the basis of relative clauses formed with -An, -DIK, -AcAK ve ?mIş and it is aimed to develop teaching materials helping students to improve their communicative skills.Communication should be the focus of teaching relative clauses in Turkish, because it is only possible to clarify the functions of these suffixes in contexts they are used. It is very important to know which communicative need they are meeting in the contexts they are used. So, this study is based on ?Communicative Approach?. And ?Task-Based Learning? is considered while developing functional materials.Because the relative clauses have lots of differences in use, discourse ? based analysis is used to teach the functions of relative clauses. According to this method, lesson materials focused on context to teach participle suffixes -An, -DIK, -AcAK ve -mIş are prepared.
