Used in teaching Turkish as a foreign language review of sources original story set example

Prof. Ayşe Özgül İNCE SAMUR Type, Year : Postgraduate, 2025 Number of Pages : 186 This study was carried out in order to identify the quality of stories teaching Turkish as a foreign language. In this case, "Aslı Hikâye Set", which is one of the commonly utilized sources teaching Turkish to foreign nationals, was studied using document review, one of the qualitative research approaches. In the research, pedagogical, linguistic, visual and structural features of all the books of the story sets were talked into discussion under eight titles. These titles were decided to be subject, characters, language and narration, message, fiction, visuals, linguistic-visual violence and education elements. With open-ended questions consisted under the title of the themes, systematic data collection was provided. The study population included all series of stories employed in the teaching of Turkish as a foreign language, but the sample was only drawn from the "Aslı Hikâye Set" due to the purposeful sampling method of the study. The set was made up of 10 books in total and was assessed on the basis of the various stories included, innovative forms of presentation and illustrations. The document review form was implemented during data collection and descriptive analysis was applied in descriptive analysis of the data. Comprehensive and multidimensional conclusions were arrived at as a result of the study concerning the issues of usability of the Aslı Story Set while teaching Turkish to foreigners. It was discovered that the narratives set contains higher merits, particularly in terms of suitability to the language level, clarity of the story, e.g., instructional messages and proper utilization of visual aid components. The results achieved serve as advice to teachers and material developers and also as a template for the same kind of research. Keywords: Turkish, Foreign Language, Education, Story Set
