Abstract (EN)

In today's world, where the need to learn a foreign language has increased due to the development of relations between societies, it is observed that studies in the field of learning and teaching Turkish as a foreign language are also given importance. The need of learning Turkish language increases day by day, because to the fact that Turkey's political situation; so the studies on teaching Turkish as a foreign language are also gaining speed. Considering the relationship between language and culture, it can be concluded that learning a foreign language is also learning a foreign culture. Language learners who learn Turkish language also gain knowledge of Turkish culture. For this reason, it is important to include elements related to Turkish culture in teaching Turkish language processes and in the teaching materials. The Turkish Folk Songs (TFS), which are the terms of the feelings and thoughts of the events that our nation has experienced throughout the history, are one of the richest treasures of Turkish culture. In this context, it can be said that TFS are one of the important sources in terms of transferring Turkish culture in teaching Turkish as a foreign language. The aim of this study is to identify the cultural elements in TFS in terms of cultural transfer in teaching Turkish as a foreign language. For this purpose, according to the socio cultural elements specified in the Common European Framework of Reference (CEFR), cultural elements in TFS have been examined and exemplary activities have been created with the selected TFS. The activities prepared in this study include suggestions on how to use TFS with regard to the transfer of Turkish culture in teaching Turkish as a foreign language. In this study, which was created in a qualitative research pattern, data was obtained by document analysis. Accordingly, 4265 folk songs in the Turkish Folk Music Oral Works Anthology and Turkish Folk Music Selection books, which are the study groups, have been examined within the scope of the socio cultural elements in the European Common Suggestions Framework. The data obtained were analyzed by content analysis and 5130 sociocultural items were identified; The findings were interpreted in conjunction with previous studies, and the adequacy and usability of the TFS in terms of cultural transfer in teaching Turkish as a foreign language was determined. Based on the idea that language teaching should be carried out together with culture teaching, this study is thought to be a guide for language teachers regarding cultural transfer.
