Turkish woman deputies in between 1935 and 1960

The Grand National Assembly of Turkey opened its gate on April 23, 1920 and it has sheltered many politicians. Turkish woman gained to enter GNAT on December 5, 1934 and has represented Turkish public till present day. In Turkish history 18 woman deputies entered GNAT in 1935 for the first time.Turkish woman deputies have made many speeches from the parliamentary bench and have touched upon various subjects by having an effort in order to enlighten Turkey. Female suffrage which came on December 5, 1934 was not in question even developed European parliaments in that time. This thesis involves the way of living, educations, workplaces, the process to enter the assembly, speeches in the assembly and contributions to Turkish public of Turkish woman deputies in the process from 1935 to 1960. Turkish woman deputies touched on social, economic, political, military, commercial and educational many subjects. Turkish inner and foreign policy from the 5th term to the 11th term was evaluated and accordingly the activities of woman deputies of the Turkish Assembly was investigated.
