Abstract (EN)

The first aim of this study is to analyze women employment in Turkey after the 1980's and to reveal the similarities and differences of Turkey from the other developing countries which live same economic progress and then to demonstrate care regime which shape effectively women employment with the examination of the number of students who are enrolled in early childhood care and pre-school education institutions and the amount of public expenditures on these institutions. These data were evaluated in the light of the documents prepared by the Economic Cooperation and Development Organization (OECD). Also, these documents, policy documents and social policy implementations, which are implemented in Turkey's neoliberal period, were evaluated. Within the scope of the study, one of the applications which are implemented by The Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Services, The Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology and Borusan is "My Mom's Work Is My Future" was evaluated. The aim of this project is to establish a kindergarten in 10 different organized industrial zones in 10 provinces and kindergartens which are named as "Borusan Neşe Fabrikası" and was opened in four different industrial zones in Adıyaman, Afyonkarahisar, Balıkesir and Malatya. In the context of the study, "Borusan Neşe Fabrikası Nursery and Day Care Center" which was established in Afyonkarahisar Organized Industrial Zone was handled. The effect of this kindergarten and day care center on women's participation in employment Afyonkarahisar Organized Industrial Zone employment was investigated and interviews were conducted with face-to-face interviews with parents who sent their children to daycare. As a result of these interviews, although it is known that access to childcare facilities has a positive effect in terms of increasing female employment, it is not possible to say that the kindergarten opened in cooperation with the relevant ministries of Borusan Holding in Afyonkarahisar Organized Industrial Zone has a positive effect on increasing female employment due to staff constraints and lack of capacity.
