New propensities in painting between 2000-2021 in Turkey

In this research, it is aimed to examine the effects of social, political, economic changes and the new opportunities provided by rapidly developing science and technology on the art of painting between the years 2000-2021 in Turkey. In order to comprehend this period better, it has been necessary to remember the important economic, political and social events of recent history and to deal with the cultural and artistic environment in general terms. The concept of globalization as a new paradigm around the world has changed the economic, political and sociological balances and has led to new structuring in the field of culture and art. The dynamism seen in the field of art affected by these developments has been examined in Turkey since the 1990s, with examples from the important art events of the period. It has been evaluated that spaces which can be followed developments, new trends, different styles and methods in contemporary art in Turkey such as biennials, museums, galleries, art fairs, public spaces, online environments created by the internet that is the one of the greatest developments of the twenty-first century, new formations such as NFT in terms of their contributions and effects to contemporary art. In order to see the reflections of the developments experienced between 2000-2021 on the art of painting in Turkey and the new trends that have emerged, examples of the works of the artists who have attracted attention with their technical features or style, as well as the individual works of the researcher are included. In this period, it was seen that new media types, technical and technological tools brought new perspectives to the production of works, and it was understood that production methods were diversified with intermediaries such as digital tools and machine intelligence, which could be done without the need for traditional materials.
