Abstract (EN)
Fairy tales are among the most common narrative forms in folk literature. In addition to keeping the collective memory alive, they serve as an indispensable tool for preserving cultural heritage and transmitting it to future generations. Numerous studies have been conducted on the themes, classification, and general concepts related to fairy tales. In Turkey, a significant number of scholarly works have been produced on fairy tales to date, which are of great importance in terms of the historiography of folktales. This master's thesis examines scientific studies on fairy tales conducted in Turkey between the years 2000 and 2025. The main aim of the study is to identify academic texts published during this period and to reveal the general trends, thematic focuses, and methodological approaches in fairy tale research. Both books and articles published in peer-reviewed journals were scanned within the scope of the research. The collected data were evaluated using the qualitative research method through document analysis. The studies included in the analysis were classified and assessed in terms of their content, approach, and the fields to which they contributed. The results show that fairy tales have been examined not only in their literary aspects but also from sociological, pedagogical, and cultural perspectives. Since the 2000s, there has been a noticeable increase in academic interest, particularly in the educational functions of fairy tales and their role in cultural transmission. Moreover, recent studies have increasingly adopted interdisciplinary approaches in fairy tale analysis. This study serves as a significant academic resource for the scholarly exploration of fairy tales and provides a comprehensive contribution to the field of fairy tale research.
