Abstract (EN)

Social studies is a course taught in the 4th grade of primary school and 5th, 6th and 7th grades of secondary school in our country, and uses data from social sciences as its content. While it prepares students for social life thanks to the information it contains, it also contributes to the formation of national history awareness in students. History knowledge, starting with the first civilizations established in Anatolia, is included in the textbooks chronologically as the first Turkish states, Islamic history, Turkish-Islamic history, Ottoman history and the history of the Republic of Turkey. The subject of Hz. Muhammad and early Islamic history the theme of our study is taught in 6th grades social studies text books in secondary schools. In this study, 9 different social studies 6th grade textbooks taught between 2005-2021 were examined. The aim of this review is to determine the content and volume of the topics in these books. Within the framework of the determined target, in the books in question, How the topics of Hz. Muhammad and early Islamic history are included, the differences between the presentation styles and contents are revealed. Keywords: Social Studies, Islamic History
