Abstract (EN)

This research deals with the rivalry between France and Turkey in French-speaking Africa, which is a new situation in this part of the world that has been under the influence of France for a long time. This rivalry, on the one hand, means that Turkey has subtly managed to develop a very dense network of cultural, economic, political and military relations with the relevant countries; On the other hand, France, unlike the post-independence years, is in the context of distrust and open rejection promoted by opinion leaders in social networks. Moreover, this unprecedented situation involving other important actors such as China and Russia is causing France's strategic regression in French-speaking Africa and the emergence of new actors. In this competitive environment, Turkey has many strategic advantages, but it also has very effective strategies because at least it is possible to say that Turkey's African adventure is a real success. Therefore, the aim we set ourselves through this thesis is to make a kind of inventory, an assessment of the situation, which will lead us to remind ourselves of the historical context of this rivalry, its geopolitical interests, the tools and strategies of the various actors, to give an explanation and a clear definition of the situation. Keywords: Turkey-Africa, Françafrique, Cooperation, Competition, Soft power.
