Abstract (EN)
Since 2011, Turkish and Syrian societies have gained nearly ten years of "living together" experience in Turkey. Throughout this period, migration research and study has rapidly developed, fundings for research and projects have significantly increased, resulting in opportunities for field research and rise in the number of reports, theses, and articles. In addition to issues such as employment, education, and health, politicians and scholars have begun to explore the daily practices and culture of the two communities sharing the same country/place under a variety of concepts. Syrians were viewed as temporary guests at first, but later their situation has become permanent. This circumstance has caused or necessitated the emergence of cultural concepts/approaches such as integration, social cohesion, harmony, and multiculturalism in both politics and academic writing. This study aims to determine how the notion of culture, which plays an important role in migration and cohabitation, is addressed in Turkish academic studies, and thus how the issue of Syrian migration and culture is examined in Turkish academia. The research examined the academic articles accessed through a Dergipark search in terms of form and content in 12 different categories. According to the findings, the number of academic articles written on the topic has been increasing in Turkey, 55.9% of the articles were single-authored and 55.9% were written by female authors, and the concepts of integration and cohesion are mostly used.
